With rights, come responsibility

(Responsibility=a moral, legal, or mental accountability)

If we have the right to clean air, clean water, and safe food…isn’t it our responsibility to protect those resources?

Right now, agro-chemical companies in Hawai’i are fighting for their right to keep spraying toxic chemicals on their crops next to homes and schools. Many people believe that these chemicals have long lasting negative effects on our land and our bodies. It is our Kuleana to ensure the land and people in Hawai’i are not harmed and that businesses in Hawai’i put the health of people ahead of profits.

The primary and general elections are now upon us and there are candidates running for office that have pledged to protect Hawai’i’s natural resources. This is very exciting news, as putting people who care in positions of power mean they have the means to make lasting change.

We are asking you to join us and claim your Kuleana by voting this year in the primary and general elections. Let’s put the candidates in office that believe the rights of all people to necessary resources come first.

So much is at stake this election year. Hawai’i cannot afford for you to not let your voice be heard.

On this site you’ll find information about voting including registering to vote. We’ve also compiled a list of organizations that work to protect Hawai’i resources. These organizations provide a variety of opportunities for you to get involved.
